Cloud ERP solutions have many obvious benefits for expanding companies looking to grow their ERP channels while avoiding large investments. Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 is out and among its benefits is new cloud operations.

Cloud-based software allows for many convenient and cost-effective solutions, such as upgrading multiple customers at the same time and allowing access from multiple locations and devices. With SaaS, access to the Internet is all a user needs to securely access their ERP solutions software.

A report by cloud infrastructure platform provider Virtustream reports 2014 could be an integral year for ERP regardless of a company's solution provider, according to Cloud Tech.

"The report advocates 2014 will be the year of the ERP cloud, and it's not hard to see why," said James Bourne for Cloud Tech. "According to survey respondents, 14 percent have fully migrated an ERP system to the cloud, with the majority (31 percent) saying they will migrate in the next 12 months. A further 27 percent said they'd be in by the end of 2015."
