Microsoft Dynamics NAV will get an update to its program this month. ZDNet said the update was originally scheduled for later in October but is now available, as NAV 2013 R2 has shipped and is also ready for download. This is one of the four main ERP tools Microsoft offers, with NAV being focused on the small and midsize market.
A blog post on Dynamics' website said the new update will offer better interoperability with Office 365 in an effort to "break down the walls between business data" and the people utilizing it.
"Microsoft Dynamics NAV can now be deployed as an application to on-premises and cloud-based SharePoint sites, with single sign on and a consistent look and feel across the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Web client and Office 365," the website said. "Deeper data integration capabilities will enable customers to extend Microsoft Dynamics NAV business processes with SharePoint workflows and Web parts, and take full advantage of Microsoft Excel and the Excel Web app."
Other features are slated to include more data sharing capabilities, better cash management for improvements to risk management and enhancements to usability for Web and desktop clients.
