Insight Works’ again Joins the NAVUG Focus 2017 as a Session Presenter

April 13, 2017

Canada-based organization, Insight Works, a Microsoft Dynamics NAV add-on developer, set to present for the second consecutive year at the advanced-learning conference.

Insight Works, a Canadian-based software development consulting firm within the DMS Group of Companies specializing in Microsoft Dynamics NAV add-ons, announced that Mark Hamblin, President of Insight Works, will be participating in two sessions at Focus 2017. Hamblin, with a plethora of experience in the manufacturing, distribution, and software development sectors, is looking forward to the second consecutive year he has been asked to present at Focus 2017. Insight Works is a strong supporter of NAVUG (NAV Users Group) and a Gold Microsoft Partner.

Focus 2017 is being marketed as the premier advanced-learning conference in St. Louis, MO for Microsoft Dynamics Users. The Focus conference is a two-day event covering specific Dynamics software products. Insight Works’ Hamblin will have the honor of presenting at the NAVUG & PBIUG conference on May 10 and 11, the goal of which is to help attendees take their knowledge to the next level with content-rich, advanced learning.

Presentation topics at the NAVUG & PBIUG conference include Intermediate C/AL and Streamlining Your Users’ Experience: Pages and Queries.

“During the Intermediate C/AL panel, we’ll review in detail the art of creating variables, how to work with local and global variables, mastering code units and more,” says Hamblin. “This is going to be ideal for attendees ready to move beyond modifying someone else’s code and who are looking to create their own business logic. Likewise for the Streamlining Your Users’ Experience discussion, which will offer a myriad of ways attendees can ‘wow’ their users, uncover the hidden treasures awaiting them with Dynamics NAV pages and more.

“We’ll also discuss what attendees can do with pages (and what not to do with them), how to work with grids and what will make them break. Switching gears for a bit after that, we will think outside the box with queries, covering topics such as how to write them properly and how they can be used – we’ll even examine some creative and funky ideas for using them in a specific environment.”

As president of Insight Works, Hamblin spent many years working in manufacturing and distribution prior to leveraging that experience to create software for those industries. As part of his software development career, he also taught Computer Engineering at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and sits on various boards of direction for software development and manufacturing programs.

Recently, Hamblin was voted one of NAIT’s Top 50 Alumni since the institute was founded.
