We’re looking for an experienced Network Analyst

Insight Works is looking for an experienced Network Analyst that fits our environment and works well with us, we are a relatively small Edmonton based company.

Functional Summary:
As an integral member of the IS team, this individual will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing support of Network Infrastructure (LAN & WAN) environments for our growing client base. We provide hardware and software IT infrastructure and related services and peripheral consultation, planning, implementation and support services for our external and internal client base including:

  • VMware ESX and ESXi server environments
  • VMware VDI environments
  • Windows Server 2000/2003/2008/SBS
  • Windows SQL 2000/2005/2008/2012
  • Windows Exchange 2000/2003/2007/2010
  • Windows SharePoint 2007/2010
  • Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8
  • Linux server based platforms; Ubuntu, Red Hat and like operating systems
  • Apple OSX server and client platforms
  • Cisco/Nortel/NetGear/HP/Sonicwall and like router, switching and related equipment and applications
  • Dell/HP/IBM and like server and client computing platforms and environments
  • Wyse and other thin computing hardware and software applications

Responsibilities, Duties & Tasks:
Reporting to the Vice President, Information Systems and working under minimal supervision, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Administration of LAN/WAN connected devices i.e. PC’s/Laptops, printers, switches and routers in a TCP/IP environment.
  • Installation, generation, testing, and ongoing availability of the above server based operating systems, sub-systems and related server and client software and hardware (Wyse, Dell, etc.) in LAN/WAN settings
  • Ensure the operations of customer IT infrastructure and facilities at local and remote client locations while maintaining a high level of client performance, functionality and availability
  • Supporting and Administration of a Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment
  • Involvement in external and internal projects as assigned

Education:

  • A diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in the faculty of Computer Sciences/Systems Technology or related fields, or relevant experience

Experience:

  • Must have at least 3 years of directly related industry experience
  • Must have exposure to varying end user and server environment support

Knowledge:

  • Must have good technical knowledge of computers
  • Must be well versed in Microsoft Office suite
  • Good understanding of the manufacturing environment is a definite asset
